Del Hegland
BROAD BACKGROUND: Del was born in Stockholm, Sweden at the beginning of the Cold War. Since then he lived in several European countries, South Africa and Australia. He has a B.A. is business from Hatfield College in England and a B.A. in Professional Arts from Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara. His extensive business experience comes from owning Del's Camera, Inc. for 27 years and studying challenges of business ownership, including exit strategies and retirement planning as an agent with New York Life. As a previous Santa Barbara Contractors' Association board member he helped set up the Construction Academy with Santa Barbara City College in 2007.
EDUCATION: “WHAT IF?” strategy: Almost everyone could use extra help; most of us have done minimal or don't understand what we already have in place. We often initiate plans to build and protect our families or business, then avoid updating them, or don't implement them at all. Both incapacity and death can profoundly affect a family and business and being prepared for "what if's" can help ease the financial, physical and emotional stresses that are part of the ups and downs of life.
FINANCIAL EDUCATION is critical for children, to help prepare them for life, for families and business owners to facilitate survival and to prosper. This is Del's primary goal: to share details of our complex and some times confusing financial world and help you crystalize your financial goals, then help you realize them over time.
Del is a happy father of three adult children, is a grandfather, performed in some 20 musicals and is a resident of the Santa Barbara area since 1971.
